  • research in health care and nursing science in which causes and effects of  care needs are studied, care is evaluated and new interventions are being developed and tested;
  • research into the effective organization and structure of integrated health care;
  • scientific education in the domain of health care and nursing science;
  • the implementation of effective interventions;
  • the use of evidence in this area in medical and health care scientific education;
  • the use of evidence in education for nurses and other caregivers (such as physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists and midwives);
  • stimulating evidence-based thinking and acting in nurses and other caregivers working in the health care sector.
