Pim Nijssen
Since, May 15 2009, Pim Nijssen is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Knowledge Engineering of Maastricht University.
Before starting his Ph.D., he gained both the B.Sc. (Knowledge Engineering and Computer Science) and the M.Sc. (Artificial Intelligence) degree at Maastricht University.
His research interests include classic and modern board games, particularly multi-player games and hide-and-seek games.
Search techniques that are used to play these games include derivatives of Maxn and Paranoid algorithms for multi-player games, and Bayesian techniques for hide-and-seek games. Furthermore, he investigates the usefullness of Monte-Carlo Tree Search techniques for both types of games.
