Bernard Rentier, Vice-Rector University of Liège,
Professor of Biology, Virology and Immunology
Bernard Rentier (1947) studied Biology and Virology in Liège,
where he obtained his MS in Biology in 1970, his PhD in Virology
in 1976 and his DSc in Virology in 1982.
After his employment as assistant (1970-1976) at the University
of Liège's department of General & Medical Microbiology
he was engaged (1976 - 1981) as Visiting Fellow and later Associate
at NIH, Bethesda MD, USA.
From 1981 until present he is active as Head of Virology Unit, Dept
of Microbiology, University of Liège. Next to this, he is
member of numerous scientific organizations.
During his professional carreer he won several prizes and awards
in the field of medical research and virology.
Bernard Rentier is founder and chairman of two Biotech companies:
GAMA (1984) and PROBIOX (2001).
