Evaluation of the European Union’s Lisbon strategy
The European Union will conduct a mid-term review of its Lisbon
strategy in 2005. According to the Lisbon strategy, the economies
of the Member States must be modernised in order to make the European
Union the most dynamic and competitive knowledge-based economy in
the world by 2010, capable of sustainable economic growth with more
and better jobs and greater social cohesion. In February 2004, the
Cabinet asked the Council to advise it on this subject.
