NEW
INVESTIGATOR AWARDS – ISSFAL 2010
In keeping with the
ISSFAL mission to encourage students and persons early in their

ISSFAL 2010 will follow the tradition established many years
ago, and offer awards for new investigators.

years of receiving the PhD or equivalent research degree.

you are the first author and indicate for which track (Lipids
and Health, Biochemistry of Lipids, and Lipids and Nutrition)

accepted for presentation (oral or poster) to remain
eligible for a New Investigator Award¹)
-

support from your supervisor as Pdf¹.

All submitted abstracts meeting the
above criteria for the New Investigator Award will be ranked for
scientific quality by an independent jury. 40 (and possibly
more if sponsorship funds are sufficient) New Investigator
Awards will be made at ISSFAL 2010, and will include
complimentary registration, the opportunity to apply for limited
travel support (see below), an invitation to attend the “meet
the Professor” breakfast, and the opportunity to win valuable
prizes for the quality of presentations and posters.
Per track (Lipids and Health,
Biochemistry of Lipids, and Lipids and Nutrition) – and prior to
the meeting – the top 3 ranked abstracts will be identified as
‘NIA winner award candidates’ and these authors will be
requested to prepare both a poster presentation and a 10 minute
oral presentation. These 9 ‘NIA winner award candidates’ will be
rewarded a laptop computer (previously used to equip the
conference internet café during the conference).
The poster presentations of the ‘NIA
winner award candidates’ will be judged by an independent jury
