Location
Maastricht, the Netherlands, is a crosspoint of different
European cultures, symbolized by the Maastricht treaty for the
unification of Europe. The city not only offers magnificent
historical monuments and interesting musea, but is also a
rapidly developing, rich and modern center. On the other hand,
the city is relatively small (about 125,000 inhabitants) which
makes everything within easy reach.
For
information on travel to and within Maastricht and for
additional sightseeing information see under
Travel.
Venue
The
conference will take place at the
Maastricht
Event and Conference Centre (MECC),
Forum 100, Maastricht. The auditorium is equipped with all
facilities and has a seating capacity for 1058 delegates.
Adjacent to the auditorium are the cafetaria and poster display
area.
Local weather
In
May - June the weather conditions usually are good with maximum
temperatures around 20 C. The evenings are long because of
daylight-saving time (the sun does not set until 21.00 h). Since
the Maastricht region is part of the Netherlands, some rain
might fall.
Gala Dinner
The
congress Gala Dinner will be held in Fort Sint Pieter which is
well-known for its special ambiance and top-level restaurant.
Bus transport is arranged to and from the gala dinner venue.
