| Theme of conference: It was 20 years ago & it’s getting better all the time |
| In 1988 Hans Crombag, Dick Hessing and Peter van Koppen organized the First European Conference on Psychology and Law. Although this conference was a considerable success, its successors were even more successful. Over the years, the number of delegates went up and the quality of the presentations steadily improved. In 2008 the conference returns to Maastricht. In 2006 the conference of the European Association of Psychology and Law (EAPL) was held in Liverpool. Therefore the theme of the second Maastricht conference, in the spirit of famous Merseyside band The Beatles, will be "it was 20 years ago & it's getting better all the time".
