Sitevisits during the E-IASSID 2006 congress

During the congress, three local service providers in Limburg (the most southern province of the Netherlands) will open their doors to participants of the E-IASSID2006 congress:
  §   Maasveld (Koraal groep)
     
§   RADAR
     
§   Stichting Pepijn en Paulus

The site visits are planned on Thursday and Friday.

More information about the sites will be provided at the Registration and Information desk.

Persons interested in visiting these sites are welcome to sign up for these visits at the Registration and Information desk on Wednesday and Thursday. Unfortunately, signing up for these site visits prior to the congress is not possible.

The size of the group taken to each site is limited (max. 8 persons per visit). Transportation between the congress location and the sites will be provided.

For some site visits, a small fee will possibly be charged.

RADAR is an organization that supports over 1600 people (children en adults) with intellectual disability in Limburg (the most southern province of the Netherlands). The head office of RADAR is situated in Maastricht, along the riverside.
RADAR offers residential support as well as support in work, recreation and leisure.

For participants of the E-IASSID2006 congress, RADAR opens the doors of:
        
1.       Daycentres for adults De Kanjel en Margraten
         2.      Children's day-care centre De Grummelkes
         3.      Livingcentre for adults Amby

 The visits are planned as follows:
        
·          De Grummelkes       August 3, from 09.00-10.30h
         ·          De Kanjel                August 3, from 14.00-15.30h
         ·          Margraten               August 4, from 09.00-10-30h
         ·          Amby                       August 4, from 14.00-15.30h

RADAR will take care of the transport from the congress location to the RADAR-sites and back.
These site-visits are free of charge.
 

Pepijn en Paulus is an organization that supports over 1200 people (children en adults) with intellectual disability in Limburg (the most southern province of the Netherlands). Pepijn en Paulus offers residential support as well as support in work, recreation and leisure.

For participants of the E-IASSID2006 congress, Stichting Pepijn en Paulus opens the doors of:

  1. Residential facility for adults with profound multiple disabilities and daycentres Priorij (Geleen) and Day centre for adults with ASS (Margraten). 
  2. Residential facility for adults with profound multiple disabilities (Kloostertuyn Hoensbroek)  and community living facilities Akkerweide and Socratesstraat (both in Brussum).

The visits are planned :

·       August 3, from 13.45-17.15 pm  
Residential facility for adults with profound multiple disabilities and daycentres Priorij (Geleen) and Day centre for adults with ASS (Margraten). 

·       August 4, from 13.45-17.15 pm   
Residential facility for adults with profound multiple disabilities (Kloostertuyn Hoensbroek)  and community living facilities Akkerweide and Socratesstraat (both in Brussum).

Persons interested in visiting these sites are welcome to subscribe for these visits at the reception-desk of the congress on Wednesday and Thursday. Reservations for visiting these sites prior to the congress are not possible.
The number of places for these visits is limited (max. 7 persons per visit).
Stichting Pepijn en Paulus will take care of the transport from the congress location to the Pepijn en Paulus-sites and back. The site-visits to the Pepijn en Paulus facilities are free of charge.


MAASVELD
is a residential support organization with housing projects throughout the city of Maastricht and with a specialized facility offering housing, day activities, leisure activities and treatment for persons with (severe) intellectual disabilities.
It is located within 1 km from the congress venue.
Maasveld was developed in 1984 along social-ecological principles, as a normalized neighbourhood within a neighbourhood of Maastricht.
 
Site visits include a visit to the day activities including a bakery and small farming project as well as a walk on the premisses and an explanation of the support philosophy.
MAASVELD staff will be present at a special desk in the congress hall: please, refer to Miriam van de Wiel.
Visit arrangements are posted and furhter explained. You can subscribe for visits (small groups) on Thursday morning and afternoon or on Friday morning. Transportation will be provided. A typical visit will take 2 hours.
